About two hundred years ago some English guy

decided he wanted to hunt fox so he made a small white dog.


This small white (and often spotted) dog has come to be known as a Jack Russel Terrier.


From personal experience I know the dogs are jumpy, like to nip at you randomly, and often become determined to dig a hole through the center of your sofa.


Apparently in 2007 a Jack Russel named George saved the lives of two children by fighting off two pit bulls.

George died but the New Zealand government gave him an award anyway.



That counts for something.

and jack russels have lots of energy but make great pets!
