German Shepards are crazy. In good ways and in bad ways.
They are insanely protective of their "family" I.E. the family that owns them. Makes it good for the family, and bad for anyone else.
For instance, my parents had a German shepard who bit my grandfather because my grandfather tripped onto my father. The German Shepard saw that as an attack.
Then again, one time a drunk guy showed up at my house when my Mom was there alone. My mom had no idea who the guy was, but he opened up our door. The dog was right there waiting. The guy didn't stay long.
The police and army and rescue services use the dog for it's high trainability, loyalty and strong sense of smell (drugs, people under rubble).

To many stories? Are you serious? I've never heard of a story involving a German Shepard doing anything vicious to a human.
I think they would be an awesome dog to own... but I'm honestly scared of them when they get too close. I've heard too many stories.
