It's cheap and virtually endless electricity, particularly suitable for resource poor countries like France and Japan, unfortunately Nuclear Power plants produce the permanently poisonous nuclear waste.
Also... if something goes wrong in a Nuclear power plant. Well, thousands might die.
At least they provide employment for men like Homer Simpson
